Press Releases
New addition to
Most Wanted list
Jan. 16, 2010
Fugitive
felons on the run are the focus for area police, who are
asking for the public’s help in tracking down some of
the area’s most violent offenders.
It’s a new
year – and with that comes a new addition to Crime
Stoppers Most Wanted list. Detectives throughout
Southwest Florida say their resolutions are to find the
fugitives hiding out in the corners of our community,
and relocate them to a new home… behind bars.
“We’re not
playing games. Never have – never will," said Lee County
Sheriff Mike Scott.
Last week,
Jarvis Jenkins joined the ranks of the Most Wanted list.
He’s a convicted felon with a long rap sheet for drug
charges and other offenses. Right now, he stands accused
of burglary, grand theft and grand theft of a firearm.
Also dodging
deputies is Tony Armstrong, who’s been jailed 13 times
before – four of those for drunk driving, and several
for violent outbursts that have led to battery charges.
These
warrants sweeps have been extremely effective, with
dozens of fugitives apprehended in just a short amount
of time. And every new lead taken in through the Crime
Stoppers hotline brings detectives that much closer to
putting known criminals behind bars.
Some of the
most wanted criminals in Southwest Florida include
sexual deviants, attempted murderers and drug dealers
trying to destroy lives. It includes people like Sergio
Correia, wanted for the lewd and lascivious molestation
of a teenager, and Troy Bolin, wanted for the sexual
battery of a young girl.
”He needs to
be picked up, and he will be picked up. He will come up
for air. If he’s watching, and he knows he’s wanted… the
Sheriff’s Office would be more than happy to throw him
in jail," Scott said.
Take a look
at these faces – if they look familiar and you know
where they’re at, Crime Stoppers is asking you to make
that anonymous phone call. A cash reward lies in wait,
and detectives are on the ready to put these most wanted
fugitives behind bars once and for all.
"When our
guys can put handcuffs on someone like that, it’s a good
day," Scott said.
Anyone with
information on a wanted fugitive is asked to call the
Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All
callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for
up to $1,000 in cash rewards. The Crime Stoppers hotline
is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Tips can also be made
online at
