Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a woman who used stolen credit cards to try to rack up hundreds of dollars of purchases last Friday near Fort Myers Beach.

According to detectives, the victim and her granddaughter went to Bunche Beach on John Morris Road, Fort Myers, around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8.  They left multiple belongings in the locked car, including cash, jewelry, cell phones and chargers, credit, debit and gift cards, as well as an airplane boarding pass for a flight that is scheduled to leave today.  In total, nearly $1,000 in items and cash were stolen from the vehicle.

Nearly an hour later, the victim was alerted by her credit card company that someone had purchased gas at a Circle K on Summerlin Road at 6:22 p.m., then was denied for a $504 purchase at the Walgreens just down the road.  Minutes later, that same card was denied for transactions of $13, $676 and $253 at a nearby Walmart.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the woman who used the stolen credit card.  She was last seen getting into the passenger seat of a lighter colored, possibly Mazda 3 hatchback.

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of this suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at or by texting a tip to CRIMES (274637) Keyword: REWARD.

Note:  Two photos of the suspect and one of the getaway car are attached to this release.
