Crook caught on camera using cards stolen during burglary
Southwest FloridaCrime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a young man caught on camera using credit cards stolen during a home burglary in Lehigh last month.
According to detectives, the victim left his 49th Street SW home for just about 90 minutes when an unknown suspect smashed through the glass on the front door and entered the home illegally. Once inside, the thief removed several television sets, a laptop, a Wii gaming system, and a black safe, containing important personal documents, as well as credit cards. Shortly thereafter, a black male, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, was caught on camera using the stolen cards at several local stores in the area of the Edison Mall. He is described as having a thin build with tattoos on his left forearm.
Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
