Credit card thief quickly incurs charges

Southwest FloridaCrime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a woman who used a stolen credit card to rack up more than $900 in charges less than an hour after the card was taken.

According to detectives, the victim left his wallet in the center console of his locked vehicle at LA Fitness at the Gulf Coast Town Center around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1.  He came back to the vehicle about 90 minutes later and drove home, at which point he noticed that his wallet was missing, and that he had missed a phone call from his bank questioning a suspicious charge.  An investigation showed that one of the stolen credit cards was used just before 9 p.m. at the Target store, also at the Gulf Coast Town Center, by an unknown female.

Anyone with information on the identity of the woman who used the stolen card is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at www.swflcrimestoppers.org or by texting a tip to CRIMES (274637) Keyword: REWARD.

Note:  Several still photographs of the suspect are attached to this release.  There is no video available at this time.
